Gloucester & Cirencester Cats Protection is a rehoming and neutering cat charity. Our aim is to help cats and kittens from Gloucester and the surrounding areas find new homes and we also offer support with neutering.
Our branch is run solely on volunteers who give up their time in between working, family life and lots of other commitments. Without the continued support of volunteers we would not be able to help all the cats that we do. Think you could help? Click here to find more out about Volunteering
In order to support the branches cat care work we are often out and about at many local events to try and raise as much money as we can. Why not keep an eye out on our Events
page and pop along to an event we our at and have a go on our tombola, or just come along for a cat related chat we would love to see you. Or why not even come along for a few hours and help us run one of our stalls.
**Please note that we only have a very limited number of fostering spaces. As a local, volunteer-run branch, we only have a few fostering pens in some of our volunteers' gardens. We are not an adoption centre or large shelter. The nearest Cats Protection adoption centre is at Allensmore, near Hereford.
Free Female Neutering:-
For a limited period we are offering to pay the full cost of neutering female cats using our voucher scheme if:
- the owner is in receipt of state benefits (excluding child tax credit)
- takes the cat to one of the following vet practices: (Woods, Quedgeley, Gloucester), (Brambles, Barnwood, Gloucester), (Brambles, Churchdown, Gloucester), (Corinium, Cirencester)
To take advantage of this, ring us on 0345-260-3280 and mention this offer.
Our usual voucher scheme continues, where the vouchers are worth £25 for males and £40 for females (at other vet practices) towards the cost of the operation.
Home to Home Adoption:-
Even if our fostering accommodation is full (as often it is!), we can still help rehome cats by offering a Home-to-Home adoption. We can take details of cats needing a home and then advertise them on our adoption page. Please note that under this arrangement we would not accept the cat into the care of Cats Protection, and current owners would have to deal direct with any potential adopters. We are, however, always happy to answer any cat-related issues, so please do get in touch.
If you are happy for your personal contact details to be placed directly on the website then please call 0345-260-3280 or email the following address and they will be uploaded with the details of the cat you are seeking a new home for:-
If you have a cat to re-home please provide us with the following details:
- the cat's name, age, sex, colour
- whether it is vaccinated, and if so, when the next booster is due
- whether it is micro-chipped
- whether it is neutered
- whether it can go to a home where there are other cats, children or other animals
- whether it is an indoors-only cat, or whether it requires access to outside
- a digital photo of the cat
Please let us also know of any other details which you think the new owner should know, such as: the cat loves to be groomed or likes to help with the ironing by lying on top of the freshly laundered clothes.
